10X Academy strives to be the leading Biblically-based, all boys STEM school in San Diego. Traditional classroom learning environments are failing to stimulate boys so we will engage them with a hands-on, competitive, curious, and independent thinking style grounded in Christian character.
Our Story
Garrett and Mandy Pagon - Founders
We’ve got 5 boys, and they were all bored with most aspects of school that didn’t involve sports, competitions, or math. The tech industry taught me that creativity, problem solving, and teamwork matter much more than pedigree. Make learning fun and do it on a team, and then you can teach boys real skills and character that will serve them better than any letter grade ever will.
We were talking with a friend about starting an outdoors, tech toys, and anything racing club for men since golf is boring for us. Then Garrett started tutoring some boys and the 10X robotics club was born. We’d take breaks between builds with paintball and burger cooking competitions. Christians are called to use their gifts to serve others and so God pretty much told us it would be more fun and challenging to do this.
Our Vision
It is our desire that graduates will be able to:
Deliver their personal testimony about saving grace in Jesus Christ.
Apply functional math to life, write clearly, and think independently.
Change a tire, cook a burger, and code their own app.
Lead a technical project team and a Bible study with other boys.
Speak clearly, look you in the eye, and have a firm handshake.
Gain the respect of other boys and form deeper in-person relationships.
Appreciate the impact of their service to the community.
